7 MCs - DOOM
"MCs is crabs in a barrel pass the Old Bay" - DOOM
Nobody, and I mean nobody pummels subject-verb agreement quite as beautifully as this guy.

Come back like Jordan wearin the 4-5 - Action Bronson
"Just a white man excelling in a black sport
Like I'm Pistol Pete"
The NBA was certainly more diverse in the 70's than it is now, but I still understand Bronson's attempt here.

KRS One - Ah Yeah!
I felt compelled to post this verse from Kris but I was not entirely certain as to why. The message is cool, but it's not his deepest stuff. The flow is tight, however it represents a mere fraction of his ability. The word play is pretty straightforward as well. Perhaps it's the energy, or delivery. Perhaps is just me as an old man reminiscing to a time lost.

Vomitspit - Talib Kweli
"For trees to grow in Brooklyn, seeds need to be planted
I'm asking if ya'll feel me and the crowd left me stranded" Talib KweliKweli on, well, a lot of things, I suppose. Environmental, music industry, music sales, activism

Come back like Jordan wearin the 4-5 - Sean Price
"Fuck fame homie I rap for the change only
Counter-punch suckers for lunch I'm James Toney" - Sean PriceSean Mandela off of a Random Axe track, saluting the prolific nature of "Lights Out" Toney, one of the greatest counter-punchers the sweet science has ever seen.
Nothing like a good, accurate, sports metaphor that demonstrates an actual understanding of the sport. Well done P.

"In school he kept a doo rag, in a bagged lunch
Just to eat heads on some breakdance shit and spit
He writ this skit in Sanskrit" - Viktor Vaughn

Vomitspit - Common
Flashbacks of past raps make me so glad I made it"
Common Sense reflecting making it past his demographic's life expectancy.

Delivery - M.O.P.
"SIMPLY CUZ MY DAUGHTER, HAS THE WORLDS WARMEST SMILE!" - Billy Danz
"IS THIS HIP-HOP?!
HELL NAW THIS IS WAR
I TOLD YOU THAT ON HOW ABOUT SOME HARDCORE!"
In the hip-hop dictionary under the word hardcore there should be a photograph of the Mash Out Posse.
I don't mean hardcore in the way the record industry tried to create in the early 2000's when they celebrated and promoted death, violence and black invisibility. I mean hardcore in terms of approach, delivery, and beat selection.
Brownsville's most famous duo since the Smith Bros. and Heltah Skeltah have been bringing major heat since How About Some Hardcore. Energy, passion, and commitment to the craft of MC'ing are the hallmarks of Billy Dane and Lil Fame. Whether they are rapping about things they love, instropsection/reflection, or liberating the jewls of flossy rappers, M.O.P. does so with their trademark "A" game.
