Used to have minerals and Zinc in it...

now it got lead and stink in it (New World Water)"
 -Mighty Mos Def

So the whole city is stuck without using water for the foreseeable future. Not only is it inconvenient, it is also a bit scary. How long have they known? How much of the toxins will be "cleaned" in order for it to be deemed okay for use again?

This is from the Mass Water...

"Water service to all MWRA customer communities east of Weston has been interrupted by a major water pipe break in Weston. Due to this break, A BOIL WATER ORDER IS BEING ISSUED FOR DRINKING WATER FOR ALL MWRA COMMUNITIES EAST OF WESTON UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. In addition, emergency water conservation measures are being implemented for all impacted communities. A complete list of MWRA water communities is included on this page. THIS WATER WILL NOT BE SUITABLE FOR DRINKING"

"Control centers try to play it all secretive (Say word?)
To avoid public panic and freakiness (Let em know)
There are places where TB is common as TV
Cuz foreign-based companies go and get greedy
The type of cats who pollute the whole shore line
Have it purified, sell it for a dollar twenty-five"

"Who gon' bring the game back?...

Who gon' Spit that Ramo on the train track?
that gold rope, that five fingered ring rap?" Jay Electronica

Not quite sure what to write about Jay, or this song, other than I love the beginning. The first several bars are almost like a prologue to a chapter. He is sort of thinking out loud about his approach to the rhyme, or rhyming in general. Before getting into the body of his rhyme he leads with:

"...Ringo hit me up on the jack
And said man spit that spat
And leave that chicken scratch for frick and frack
Guru told me slow up the flow
Cause science and metaphors will slow up the dough so
Here we go.."

After the "here we go"he just blacks out on the track.
Jay is a beast. Hope major label fuckery and his, ahem, love life greatly improve his product (wishful thinking).

"If rap was like blacks in the sixties, I'm a white cop in riot gear ready to hose down
Memo to all I'm settin you hoes down
"

"These days a lot of niggas is wack

All I hear is who gonna bring new york back
The south is this the south is that
Slinging crack in the white tee in the trap
Sippin patron and yak
Ringo hit me up on the jack
And said man spit that spat
And leave that chicken scratch for frick and frack
Guru told me slow up the flow
Cause science and metaphors will slow up the dough so
Here we go Gs up hoes down
If rap was like blacks in the sixties, I'm a white cop in riot gear ready to hose down
Memo to all I'm settin you hoes down
I'll spray a sick round on any sick clown who wanna get down
From nueve york to chic-town
Comprende, wack rappers bow when they in the presence of the sensei
The flow is, muy caliente
Jaydolf Spitler, rap Hitler
One man militia
Burnin niggas live with the scripture
The sound waves shake the dead in they graves
Pro tools'll import the session from the Richter
No wonder I'm the victor
If a thousand words is equivalent to a picture
Then welcome to the cinema
Shot of wheat grass and an enema
Who wanna style war with the emperor?"

They went in!

..."product of the curb but my words sound heaven sent
Fuck them other words, I mean my words wild better than
the words that they peddlin
I word it how they never did
i'm word for word the wordiest of the veterans
That's still in his rookie stage
I'm penning a book a day
I'm giving them look-aways
Pushed away pick and rolls..." - Skyzoo

First of all, when did Skyzoo change his style up? I mean, I gave this nigga a real good listen, im talkin NY road trip listen, and he was decent, but I certainly was not this impressed. My first impressions were that he played around with his intonation too much. I dont know, maybe I need to go back and give him another run cuz homeboy went in on this track! Torae represented too and Sean Price, is, well, Sean Price. He's a monster. Dope video, dope concept, dope performance by all involved.

Good Hip Hop music makes me smile.

UPDATE: Apparently the Sky joint I heard was a mixtape, and not his full release album, The Salvation. It's downloading as we speak (no piracy!)
